Christmas music.

December 6, 2007

Me: Why are we playing Christmas music?

Dad: It’s the holiday season. And you’re supposed to.

Me: No it’s not.

Dad: Yes it is. And you can’t listen to it any other time without people thinking you’re weird.

Me: So all year long you’ve harbored this burning desire for Christmas music?

Dad: Yes!

Me: DAD!

Dad: What?

Me: Listen to this song.

Dad: You’re not supposed to listen to the words.

Me: I’m not! I’m listening to the sound!

(5 second pause)

Dad: What? It’s soothing.

Why can't they say what they want?

Why can't they just say what they mean?

Come clean, listen and talk.
